I bought my Apple mobile phone at the beginning of the year 2008. As a beginner of the cell phone, I knew little about how to use the variety of applications available on iPhone. I bought the cell phone because like other girls, I was attracted by the great outlook of the handset. For quite a long time, I didn't know how bright the cellular phone can be and used the phone just for short messages and phone calls while occasionally taking some pictures with the inserted digital camera. I show great admiration for the camera of the handset to every person I know as I discover that pictures taken by it are amazingly wonderful! Until one day, I learnt from another iPhone lover that there is a lot more ways to do with my iPhone and I started to try every possible method to get benefits from the cell phone. Here come a few important tips for iPhone beginning users.
Screen image capture: Click the home button and top side button at the same time and at a fast speed, and you will hear a camera shutter sound. Then check your photo album, you will find the photo there.
Direct access to iPod player: When your iPhone is in the unlocked condition, double press the menu button rapidly and the iPod player will be shown on the top part of the screen. You can choose to play or stop the player. And you can as well opt to play the previous song or the next song by clicking the button marked with a double-arrow on the two sides of the 'on' and 'off' button.
Quick access to favourites/iPod/home: First, definec the part you wish can be accessed with a shortcut access. Go into 'Settings', then click 'General' and click 'Home Button', there you will meet three choices for the shortcut key function: home, iPod and favourites. Choose any of these areas, and when your iPhone is unlocked, you can reach the area you have choosed with a quick double-click. For example, I select 'Favourites' as my home button and when I decide to make a phone call to a person who is on my favourite list, I just need to double press the main button. This direct access function is really useful for our cell phones!
Airplane mode: After you enter into 'Settings', you can see the 'Airplane Mode' setting. If you don't want to receive messages or phones, whether when you are sleeping or you are having a meeting or on any other occasions, make the 'Airplane Mode' in the 'on' state, then you mobile phone won't be connected with any communication signal. Then your iPhone becomes a sheer device just for entertainment purposes like music player, calendar, etc. And a wonderful benefit is: when you are on the plane, you don't have to power off your mobile phone for security consideration. By simply activating the 'Airplane Mode', you can continue to enjoy songs, games or other applications with you iPHone as you wish.
Wi-Fi: It is simple. Just enable the Wi-Fi function in 'Settings', and wherever you stay, the recognized networks will be connected automatically. If no recognizable networks are spotted by the handset but wireless network is provided in the place, you will be asked if you would like to access the network. Occassionally you may need to ask the owner of the place for the password to access the network. Do as it is demanded. Then you can have fun with Internet surfing without a laptop.
